Rectangular box, white enamel field; hinged lid showing polychrome scene (painted over sepia transfer) of a couple dressed in 18th-century garb in a garden with a ruin in the background; flowers painted on four sides and bottom; white interior.

This is a box from United Kingdom. It is dated ca. 1775 and we acquired it in 1908. Bequest of Katherine Strong Welman. This object is currently resting in our storage facility ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
