What is this?

On box, large-scale floral sprig set within a vining foliate framework. On lid, sailing vessel on ocean, with legend: Prosperity to our Commerce and Manufacturers. Printed in pink, white and olive on a yellow ground.

This is a bandbox and lid from United States. It is dated ca. 1830 and we acquired it in 1917. Gift of Eleanor and Sarah Hewitt. This object is currently resting in our storage facility ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
