This is a Brisé fan. It is dated 1720–29 and we acquired it in 1952. Its medium is ivory sticks painted in oil and finished with vernis martin, tortoise shell overlay on guards, mother-of-pearl rivet, silk ribbon . It is a part of the Textiles department.
