Fragment (Peru)

This is a Fragment. It is dated ca. 1000 and we acquired it in 1957. Its medium is cotton and its technique is complementary wefts; plain weave foundation; three sections: 1) predominantly warp-faced plain weave (plaid), 2) wefts faced plain weave (on grouped warps) 3) complimentary wefts, plain weave, sides: one intact, ends: one has warp selvage. It is a part of the Textiles department.
