Fragment (Italy)

This is a Fragment. It is dated 1920s and we acquired it in 1962. Its medium is silk and metallic and its technique is plain weave foundation with voided supplementary warp pile (velvet) with continuous supplementary "facing" weft in metallic, bound in 1/3 twill by the foundation warp. It is a part of the Textiles department.
