Pair Of Cachepots And Liners

This is a Pair of cachepots and liners. It is dated ca. 1765 and we acquired it in 1969. Its medium is painted tôle, wire. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.

In order to more easily transfer plants between containers, some pots, such as this one, have removable liners. The pot itself is decorated with pagoda scenes; the protective barrier offered by the liner has allowed the pot to remain in fine condition by keeping moisture and soil from rusting it.

This object was donated by Rodman A. Heeren. It is credited Gift of Rodman A. Heeren.
