Sampler (USA)

This is a Sampler. It was embroidered by Lucy Lathrop. It is dated ca. 1800 and we acquired it in 1971. Its medium is silk embroidery on linen foundation and its technique is embroidered in satin, eyelet, cross, long armed cross, rococco variation, chain and couching stitches on plain weave foundation. It is a part of the Textiles department.
