This is a Cover. It is dated late 17th–early 18th century and we acquired it in 1975. Its medium is silk, metal-wrapped thread on a silk core, metal sequins, metal coils and its technique is plain couching stitches on 8-harness satin plus plain weave (damasse); some couched areas padded with strips of paper or parchment; bobbin lace. It is a part of the Textiles department.
