Katagami, Geometric Pattern Imitating Warp Ikat (Kasuri)

This is a Katagami. It is dated mid 18th - early 19th century and we acquired it in 1976. Its medium is mulberry paper (kozo washi) treated with fermented persimmon tannin (kakishibu), and silk threads (itoire). It is a part of the Drawings, Prints, and Graphic Design department.
