What is this?

Central floral motif in black inside a rhomboid; partial floral motif in corners.

This is a katagami from Japan. It is dated late 19th–early 20th century and we acquired it in 1976. Gift of Helen Snyder. This object is currently resting in our storage facility ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
