We acquired this object in 1941
Inscription: "Chere maman fait par Caroline Dunn l'an 1828." Alphabets, numbers, wreaths of flowers, medallions with birds, trees and flowers, all in a floral border. Bound in pink ribbon.
This sampler is medium: silk embroidery, wool foundation technique:. Its dimensions are: Warp x Weft: 34 x 50 cm (13 3/8 x 19 11/16 in.).
It is inscribed Inscription: "Chere maman fait par Caroline Dunn l'an 1828."

Bequest of Mrs. Henry E. Coe. Its provenance is ex. coll. Mrs. Henry E. Coe (Eva Johnston Coe) We acquired this object in 1941.
