What is this?

Notebook with handwritten formulas for dyestuffs to be used for printing textiles. Book contains 269 samples in various designs such as flowers, dots, stripes, squares, and circles.

Part of cover is missing.

This is a dyer's record book from United States. It is dated 1861–74 and we acquired it in 1945. Gift of Frederick J. Whitehead from the collection compiled by his father Cornelius Whitehead at the Pacific Print Works of Lawrence, Massachusetts. This object is currently resting in our storage facility ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
