Decoupage, Japanese Motifs

This is a Decoupage. It was published by James Williamson. It is dated 1803 and we acquired it in 1948. Its medium is brown ink and watercolor on cream-colored paper. It is a part of the Drawings, Prints, and Graphic Design department.

A tan teapot whose body is vertically ovular. In red are various patterns and images, including a row of brick-like squares that extends from the bottom left of the body to the top right of it. Off of this narrow, wall-like row grows a tree. Two birds fly off of it, toward the top left of the body. Below it, in the bottom right of the body, are a thick bush of plants.
