Sampler (Chile)

This is a Sampler. It is dated 1942 and we acquired it in 1981. Its medium is silk and cotton embroidery on rayon foundation and its technique is embroidered in feather, buttonhole, stem, satin, running, herringbone, couching, knot, bullion knot, and chain stitches with looping (needlelace), applique and cut fabric work on plain weave foundation. It is a part of the Textiles department.
