Sidewall, "Kolibri" [Hummingbird]

This is a sidewall. It was designed by Josef Hillerbrand. It is dated ca. 1920 and we acquired it in 1990. Its medium is machine-printed paper. It is a part of the Wallcoverings department.

Very bold floral design in the modern style. The highly stylized floral and foliate motifs printed in a subtle palette make it difficult to distinguish the hummingbird from the flowers when viewed against the intense orange background. Hillerbrand worked in a number of different media but was especially noted for his textile designs.

It is credited Gift of Cincinnati Art Museum.

Its dimensions are

L x W: 792.5 x 48.6 cm (26 ft. x 19 1/8 in.)
