Sidewall, Nana

This is a sidewall. It was created by Niki de Saint-Phalle and designed by Niki de St. Phalle and made by Xartwall. It is dated 1972 and we acquired it in 1992. Its medium is screen-printed paper. It is a part of the Wallcoverings department.

Niki de Saint Phalle was a noted French painter, sculptor, and filmmaker. In the mid-1960s she began creating her Nana figures, which are sculptured female forms in varying poses, all brightly colored and patterned. This design contains two Nanas along with a number of other disparate elements all boldly rendered.

This object was donated by Ms. Marilyn Hapgood. It is credited Gift of Marilyn Hapgood.
