Hanging (USA)

This is a Hanging. It was designed by Marguerite Zorach and embroidered by Marguerite Zorach. It is dated 1926–27 and we acquired it in 1997. Its medium is wool embroidery on linen foundation and its technique is embroidered using stem, chain, buttonhole, herringbone, satin and roumanian stitches on plain weave. It is a part of the Textiles department.
