Yosemite Plate

This is a plate. It was manufactured by Thomas and Richard Boote. It is dated 1883 and we acquired it in 1999. Its medium is earthenware with transfer printed decoration. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.

This object was donated by Brooklyn Museum. It is credited Gift of the Brooklyn Museum of Art, Paul F. Walter Collection.

Its dimensions are

H x diam.: 2.5 x 24.8 cm (1 in. x 9 3/4 in.)

It has the following markings

On base, brown underglaze: crowned coat of arms with two lions; "ROYAL PREMIUM / T & R BOOTE / ENGLAND / YOSEMITE"; rhomboid stamp: "IV / 13 / 17 Rd K / C"; impressed: "i"
