Pezzato Vase, 1950–51

This is a Vase. It was designed by Fulvio Bianconi and made by Venini Glassworks and Paolo Venini. It is dated 1950–51 and we acquired it in 1998. Its medium is fused colored glass squares, reheated, blown and shaped. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.

This object was featured in our Object of the Day series in a post titled Like a Patchwork of Light.

This object was purchased from Barry Friedman Ltd.. It is credited Museum purchase from General Acquisitions Endowment in honor of Piera Maria Watkins.
