The wallpaper imagery for Indi is produced photographically and captures a moment in time. This paper shows a flock of blackbirds taking flight in a design that is delicate, provocative, and poetic. There is no vertical repeat this work, giving it a random feeling typical of work produced by Trove, a design firm based in New York City. In 2009, Indi was recognized with the Good Design Award by the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design in the Graphics category. All of Trove’s wallpapers are eco-friendly. They are printed with UV-resistant, organic eco-solvent inks on commercial grade post-consumer recycled paper. They are also washable, thanks to a non-toxic wax-based coating. Trove wallpapers are important examples of innovative designs by contemporary artists/designers, as well as examples of “green” papers—both of which are areas of collection focus within the museum’s wallcoverings collection
