Tile (USA)

This is a tile. It was manufactured by Hamilton Tile Works Co. and A. Metzner. It is dated 1883–96 and we acquired it in 1986. Its medium is molded, carved and glazed stoneware. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.

This object was donated by Mrs. Florence Barnes. It is credited Gift of Florence I. Balasny-Barnes.

Its dimensions are

30.5 x 15.2 x 1.5 cm (12 x 6 x 9/16 in.)

It has the following markings

Marks: Molded on reverse, with circle: "THE/HAMILTON/TILE WORKS CO./HAMILTON/OHIO"in raised letters.
