Handkerchief, mid- 19th century

This is a Handkerchief. It is dated mid- 19th century and we acquired it in 1951. Its medium is cotton on linen and its technique is buttonhole, padded buttonhole, padded satin, overcast cord, stem over running, and speckling stitch embroidery on plain weave; cutwork with needle lace fillings. It is a part of the Textiles department.

This object was donated by Mrs. R. Keith Kane. It is credited Gift of Mrs. R. Keith Kane from the estate of Mrs. Robert B. Noyes.
