Necklace (England)

This is a necklace. It was made by Carlo Giuliano. It is dated ca. 1890 and we acquired it in 1969. Its medium is cast and enameled gold, cut sapphires and diamonds, pearls.. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.

Specializing in Renaissance-style design, Giuliano’s work typically involves a combination of enamel and various gemstones to create lavishly decorated jewelry. This necklace features both, showcasing gold and enamel links and eleven pendant ornaments of varying size and complexity, all interspersed with gemstones.

It is credited Museum purchase through gift of Anonymous Donor, Annie Schermerhorn Kane, and various donors.
