Hanging, Kenoten on the Hudson, 1950–59

This is a Hanging. It was designed by Lydia Bush-Brown. It is dated 1950–59 and we acquired it in 1977. Its medium is silk and its technique is wax resist (batik) applied by brush on plain weave; lined with damassé (plain weave plus 1/3 twill). It is a part of the Textiles Department department.
