Darning Sampler (Germany)

This is a Darning sampler. It is dated 1830 and we acquired it in 1981. Its medium is cotton, wool and its technique is embroidered in running stitch (pattern darning) plus loop and twist on plain weave foundation. It is a part of the Textiles department.
