Sidewall (France)

This is a sidewall. It was distributed by Nancy McClelland. It is dated 1920–50 and we acquired it in 1999. Its medium is block-printed paper. It is a part of the Wallcoverings department.

Drapery paper printed in imitation of silk satin. The design is printed in six colors which allows the design to capture the fullness and sumptuous nature of the draped fabric. The warm gray palette which contains no printed surface pattern draws attention to the highlights and shadows creating a realistic trompe l’oeil effect.
