Bowl Bowl

This is a bowl. It was manufactured by Gorham Manufacturing Company. It is dated ca. 1905 and we acquired it in 1985. Its medium is silver. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.

It is credited Gift of Mrs. Ruth Brown.

Its dimensions are

H x W x D: 8.2 × 27.4 × 24.8 cm (3 1/4 × 10 13/16 × 9 3/4 in.)

It has the following markings

On underside of bowl: [1] “Martelé” over an Eagle above a lion in an octagon, an anchor in a shield, and “G” in an octagon, impressed (maker’s mark; object line) [2] “.9584”, impressed (standard mark, ca. 1905) [3] “H / P Z”, impressed

It is inscribed

Inscribed on the body of bowl: [1] "AM" in a "W" -shaped surround, incised (monogram for original owner Anna Maria Weiss)
