This is a Ring. It was designed by Michael Jank. It is dated 2007 and we acquired it in 2017. Its medium is hammered and patinated copper. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.

Dittlmann and Jank’s ring is a tribute to metalworking skills developed over the ages as pure copper has been roughly worked into a simple circular form. The name FOREVERRING is evocative of eternity, and the hammered surfaces forms a link to the distant past.

It is credited The Susan Grant Lewin Collection, Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum.
