Square shawl. Comprised of about 15 vertical stripes, alternating maroon, yellow, and white. Inside each stripe is a row of teardrop shapes equally spaced from the top to bottom of the stripe. At the center of the shawl is a circular shape with a jagged border. In each corner of the shawl is a quarter-circle, resembling the center circle.

Rectangular fragment of a woven shawl in red, blue, and tan featuring two repeats of a multicolored cone motif. The two cones fill the height and width of the shawl. The cones are comprised of four layers, a central teardrop encompassed by three lines of different floral patterns. All four layers culminate at top in concentric curls to the left. At the bottom of each cone are six feather-like leaves. The center of the cone on the right is filled more densely with red than the left. While the first layer around the teardrop on the left is more densely filled with red than the right. Otherwise the two cones are identical. The space around the cones is covered with dense embroidered flowers leaving little negative space. Multicolored band is stitched to each side. The border at top and bottom are comprised of two thin parallel red lines with a row of black dots. They are filled with the same dense floral pattern as the rest of the design. The top and bottom edges are frayed.

Rectangular fragment of an ivory-colored shawl featuring two predominantly red paisley cones surrounded by floral borders. Each embroidered cone has a flowering bulbous base culminating in a curvilinear, hooked tip and extend the height of the fragment. They are filled with red, blue, and tan flowers connected by green branches and leaves gathered into a small vase at bottom. Each are bordered by two red lines filled with a row of green and red flowers connected by stems. The borders form an uppercase I shape, a vertical line at center with a horizontal line at top and bottom. A similar, but thicker border lines the top and bottom edge of the fabric. At bottom there is only a partial border on the right side. The edges of the fragment are raw and frayed.

Dark black blue textile with offset paisley pattern in columns. The textile has a mild sheen. The pattern consists of two floral sprays wrapping around a central floral arrangement forming an oval. Small flowers in red and blue surrounded by green leaves line the exterior on a thin yellow branch, small buds line in the interior. The left spray wraps up and over the right. At center a symmetrical floral arrangement with various flowers in blue, green, red, and yellow. The bottom of the arrangement centers on a blue and red flower. A yellow stem extends from this flower with two short downward curved branches with red flowers on either side. The exterior floral sprays connect at this stem.

Irregularly shaped fragment of a woven shawl with a repeating paisley pattern in predominately red, orange, and tan hues. The pattern consists of columns of mirrored images of stylized floral arrangements. Curled overlapping branches and flowers fill all areas between the columns. Featured across the center are three teardrop shaped paisley cones with a hooked curl at top. Two dark vertical lines filled with stylized floral and paisley shapes create a border on the right side of the textile. The right side of the fragment is cut diagonally to the right. The top is cut diagonally downward. The two sides form a ninety-degree angle at top right. Bottom right is a squared off with a horizontal and vertical line connected at a ninety-degree angle. All edges are frayed.

A portion of a tan and red woven sash laid vertically. A row of five stylized floral bouquets line the top. Each bouquet is symmetrical and mirrored on a center line and forms an oval shape. Each has a blue scalloped base with claw like leaves in green and yellow extending upward topped with three columns of red flowers. Border above and below row of bouquets feature alternating petit blue and red stylized flower buds and green leaves. The center panel is filled with rows of small gold stylized leaves on a red background. The diamond shape of the leaves creates the illusion of red diagonal crisscrossed lines. Vertical borders with intertwined red, blue, purple, and white flowers with green leaves line each side of the sash. Gold fringe is attached at the top edge.

Vertical drawing of a paisley motif, also referred to as a Persian cone in a teardrop shape on a tan background. The cone is formed by multiple similarly sized flowers and green leaves grouped closely together. Although the flowers are mostly red with yellow centers, some are blue (also with yellow centers). Flowers appear to be mirrored on either side of a central line. A blue rectangular base decorated with red flowers is at the bottom center of the composition. A garland is positioned beside the motif on the upper right. Red vertical stripes, with what appears to be parts of flower blossoms and leaves between them, appear to the right of the garland. Red lines forming corners with parts of flower blossoms appear below framing the cone. A stamped image of a wreath in black appears top left and lower right.

Vertical rectangular drawing of a Persian cone formed by various size flower blossoms in pink, red, and green on a tan background. Three large flowers in a vertical row connected by a thin stem form the center of the cone. A red rectangular base decorated with flowers is at the bottom center of the composition. Medium and small flowers fill the rest of the teardrop shaped cone. On the right, a floral garland wraps the outer curve of the cone with a small red blossom floating on its own. Lower left, a cluster of flowers and two red blossoms appear. Top left below the tip of a cone, a stamped image of a wreath in black. The lower right part of the design appears unfinished, with some of the flowers only outlined in white.

Against a gold-colored paper backdrop, a flower bush blooms upward from the bottom-center of the work, where a triangular shape forms the base. Blue stems spring outward from this base, curling all the way up toward the top of the paper. Of the blue stems are flowers of various shapes, sizes, and colors, ranging from small, dark red flowers to larger, star-shaped yellow flowers. Toward the top, more of the stems are visible, illuminating the paper with tufts of light blue.

Diamond-shaped pattern, repeating five times per row, in eight rows. At the base of the narrow, vertically-long diamond is a face, appearing to have its mouth covered by cloth. Stemming out of the face -- both to the sides and straight upward -- is a floral pattern, rich in greens with red flowers at the borders.

A vertically rectangular shawl. The background is a light tan. A dense floral pattern borders the shawl, with bouquets and conical, snail shell-like shapes populating the pattern. In the center are four teardrop-like shapes in each corner of the rectangular open space. They face each other. In between each shape are bouquet-like floral patterns.

Rectangular shawl has a cream colored small square in its center with four floral-like figures (one in each corner). Bordering the center square are tiny flowers in a muted rust color and muted blue; this pattern is followed by a large paisley pattern that displays complex floral patterns within each paisley form. Pink, maroon, burgundy, as well as the continuation of cream and muted blue are also part of the make up of the larger paisley pattern, extending to the very edges of the shawl. The perimeter of the shawl is completed with cream colored fringe or tassel accents.

Paper print of two women (shown from head to toe) stand side by side at a 3/4 angle, making eye contact; the woman on the left side of the page turns her head away from the viewers perspective while the woman on the right has her face turned towards the viewer. Each woman wears a head piece covering their hair, and a shawl over their shoulders; besides the detailing at the very bottom of their white dresses, the head piece and shawl are the only clothing articles that were hand painted in this print. The headpiece worn on the women to the left is pastel pink, and her shawl is a pale yellow, while the head piece worn by the woman on the right is white with green details at the front, and her shawl is orange covered in a green, yellow, and red paisley pattern.

Paper print of two women, one standing while facing the viewer (figure 1) and one sitting on a chair completely turned away from the viewer (figure 2) and slightly behind figure 1. Although both figures wear long white shoulderless garments, they are accessorized differently; figure 1 (on the left side of page) , wears a white sun hat with a pastel pink ribbon wrapped around, draping and flowing behind her, along with matching pink flowers sprouting under and above the brim. Additionally, she wears a mostly black silk shawl with muted primary colored paisely details around the boarder, it drapes diagonally around her body and she holds the two ends together gently in one hand. The black shawl matches her black satin slippers and black ebroidery pattern on the front of her garment. Figure 2 (on the right side of the page) accessorizes with a white sun hat wrapped in white ribbon that flows around her head and pastel blue flowers sprouting from the top as will as beneath the brim of the hat. She sits in a small green wooden chair. It is apparent the subtle colors on this paper print are hand painted.

A female-presenting person stands, wearing an elaborate pink hate and dress. The hat has a large, round brim with white and pink feathers billowing off the top and sides of it. The dress is open at the neck, with a lace pattern across the shoulders, with puffy pink shoulder pads and white sleeves. It has an hour-glass shape, becoming slender at the waist and expanding outward toward at the legs, becoming wide at the ankles. A colorful shawl with blues, reds, and yellows is draped over her left hand. Seated to hear left, facing away from the viewer, is another person wearing an identical outfit but in yellow color. She sits on a chair with a wooden back and blue cushion.

Surface is constructed of beaded knitting, a type of knitting in which the stitches are decorated with ceramic or glass beads. The beading depicts a pattern of two nested multicolored paisleys that fill the piece. The smaller, inner paisley curls out to the right, and gives the illusion of being overlaid on the object's surface. The larger paisley curls left and features an outer, rust-colored ring that alternates a pattern of circular floral medallions. Around this, an irregular taupe doily-like scalloped border leads to a olive green background design. It has smaller blue paisleys mirrored on the left and right edge, positioned with the tapering end closest to the bag’s edge. There is brown fringe with black tips hanging from the bottom edge of the bag. The top of the bag features an engraved hinged frame clasp, with two miniscule knobs at center. A hoop chain link strap connects from the clasp, and features a repeating pattern of three small interlocking circles-- “figaro” style chainlink. The bag is placed flat on a white backdrop.

Terracotta cotton fragment with the bottom section block printed in saffron yellow and silver. The print consists of a a saffron floral border the bottom and the right side containing sunflower-like flowers and diamond shape tassels, while the top is a more geometric daisy-like pattern, and the left is cut off. In the center there are four silver cone-shaped trees, each containing a bird, and each interspersed with sunflower-like flowers at the top and bottom.

Against a dark blue background, a teardrop shaped pattern waves to one side, repeating four times per row, with seven rows in total. In one row, the teardrop will wave to the left; in the row below, to the right; then left, then right, etc. Each teardrop is comprised of small flowers, varying in color and also shape, from circular to hexagonal to tube-like. In between each teardop is a much smaller diamond shape, comprising of similar flowers.

A brass button with a teardrop shape surrounded by leaves and flowers stamped in a circle in the center. The teardrop is outlined in a gold paint with a border of red and gold dots. In the curved section of the teardop is a blue flower outlined in gold with green leaves. A small red flower and golden leaves grown from the teardrop to the edge of a black circle. The circle is surrounded by facetted boses of cut steel colored in blue, silver and copper.

A set of two silver gilt, horizontal, teardrop shaped buckles which have been split in the middle to reveal the join, making four paisley shapeslaid out in two rows. The top two are smaller in shape and are studded with a small turquoise stone in the curved edge of the teardrop. They both have silver gilt tassels with coral beads along their bottom edges and a circular join to fasten. The bottom two are larger in shape and are embellished with floral patterns and studded with small turquoise stones and coral beads. They both have silver gilt tassels with coral beads along their bottom edges and a circular join to fasten. The section in the bottom left has a larger diamond shape hanging from the circular join which has its own silver gilt tassels with coral beads.

Crocheted purse. In the center are several small, gold rings and on either side are two, conical pouches. Both pouches have teardrop shaped patterns, with a contrasting-colored background. Some teardrops are tan with red background, others red with green background, etc. On either end of the pouch are small, circular gold pendants.

An oblong matchsafe with rounded sides and corners, decorated with silver, winding tendrils that have flowers with copper centers on a steely-gray ground. The lid has a protruding rounded silver lip running along its lower edge. At the bottom of the matchsafe is a small oval shaped striker.

A large, teardrop-shaped pattern extens from the top left of the book to the bottom right. In the pattern are many smaller patterns, each resembling a floral shape. The colors are mostly in the range of pinks, oranges, and reds. On either side of this pattern are two smaller shapes, resembling candy-canes, with green borders and red/pink/orange insides.

A textile sample with slightly frayed edges, printed with a vibrantly-colored paisley design. The paisleys are bright purple-pink, filled with zigzag and curved shapes in orange, red, light blue, and bright pink. A pink zigzag border surrounds each paisley. Lines of alternating paisleys run in rows and columns over the bright turquoise background, scattered with purple dots. Rows of paisleys are mirror-symmetrical with the rows above and below, creating a rhythm.

This wallcovering sample book is spread open to show a pattern of large golden-yellow paisleys floating on a light beige ground. The teardrop-shaped paisleys are elaborated with leafy scrolls and filled with floral and leaf motifs. Some paisleys are more detailed, and outlined in dark golden yellow; others are lighter in color and less detailed. These lighter paisleys seem to recede into the background. Leafy scrolls in varying sizes fill in the spaces around the paisleys.

Bright gold-colored paisley shape, composed of delicate scrolling foliage and round flower shapes. The cut-out areas create a lacelike effect. The foil is textured all over with lines of dimpled punches, accenting the curving shapes.
